They hadn't told him about the secret room.
"The secret room? What's that?"he asked.
"You bring something special back this afternoon, Donut. Then we'll show you the secret room."
"Very special," Mouse said firmly.

I laughed at this book because I though Why they let him bring something special for showing him thier secret room. This is a special children world. It is very strenge.However Donut's idea was very nice that he brought a real parrot in a cage. I agree because thier secret room don't have a pet. What is more, this parrot is very beautiful. And also, I suprised that this parrot could come back to its house like a cat.I think this parrot is very clever!!!
